Twitter celebrates its seventh birthday

Twitter is celebrating its 7th birthday with a video showing a short history of the service, from its humble beginnings and co-founder Jack Dorsey’s first tweet, to the present day, when it boasts 200 million users.

Launched on March 21, 2006, Twitter has grown from a promising little service with a lot of server issues to one of the world’s largest social networks, with “well over” 200 million active users which send 400 million tweets each day.

Facebook rolling out threaded, ranked comments

Facebook is rolling out threaded comments and ranking.

The new comments for pages and users who have enabled “follow,” have been in testing since late last year, and starting next week will be available on an opt-in basis for all accounts with more than 10,000 fans or followers.

We’ve seen it tested a few times in the past but it soon disappears again which is a shame as it’s a fantastic feature and makes reading and replying to comments so much easier.

Let’s hope they eventually roll this out to everyone and not just the profiles and pages with > 10,000 followers.
